The Rural Incentives Programme aims to encourage doctors to practice in regional, rural and remote communities and to encourage careers in rural medicine through financial incentives. Local Health District (LHDs) is managed and funded by the NSW Government Ministry of Health. They are responsible for providing public health care in the defined geographic areas of NSW.
